San Francisco is my passion and is also my area of specialty.
I do not cross bridges or go south (I network with agents in all directions and world wide). San Francisco offers something for every one - from world class culture, museums, opera/symphony, sports, diversity, neighborhoods and incomparable views. Having lived here over thirty years, I have seen the city change dramatically: the freeway collapse during the 1989 earthquake, the demolition of some buildings and the restoration of others, the building of the baseball stadium, the rise of a new neighborhood South of Market (SoMa), and many restaurants opening and closing. The city offers the most wonderful weather, the only major metropolitan area where one can experience all four seasons in a single day.
The architecture, the parks, the Bay and the spectacular views are a constant fascination and of course the famous landmarks, the cable cars, Coit Tower and on and on I could go. With these changes and new beginnings, real estate is fascinating. Real estate offers many diverse lifestyles from urban to suburban environments, from one story to the tallest building west of the Mississippi River, single family homes to multi-unit buildings and owner occupied if desired, investment opportunities and mixed use if one wants to live/work in the same building. Choices are plentiful and so are the neighborhoods, the alleys, the hidden spots that only locals know about and the importance of knowing the cross streets or one may never find the address as streets start and stop in order to accommodate the hills.
In fact, there are pockets of popularity “that defy all reasonableness”, i.e., with some listings, multiple overpriced offers are expected and are frequently beyond expectation. This is San Francisco at its finest. I love this city as it is like no other.
